My trip to Great Britain started in London. To be quite honest, I didn’t expect the weather in Great Britain to be so cold in August. I visited several cities in England and in Scotland. Below is a list of everything you should know while visiting these countries. (well, not everything. but some really good stuff)
Day 1 Arrival in London
Flight to London : I flew from istanbul to Heathrow airport in London. The flight took approximately 4 hours.
Check-in and Explore: Once I arrived, I checked into my hotel in central London. I spent the rest of the day exploring nearby attractions like the Tower of London, Tower Bridge.
Evening: I enjoyed London's nightlife. The city is so vast and diverse in tems of people, culture and places to enjoy a night out. There are a plenty of places to spend your evening and the city is never short of things to do.
Day 2 Central London Sightseeing
Morning: I started my day with a visit to Buckingham Palace to see the Changing of the Guard, then walked to nearby landmarks like Westminister Abbey and the Houses of Parlement.

Afternoon: I visited the British Museum and National Gallery. both offering extensive collections of art and historical artifacts. The British Museum has a significant collection of Turkish art. I have heard that Türkiye is trying to get back Anatolian artifacts from British museums.

Evening: I went to Chinatown for dinner after exploring Covent Garden, Soho square.
Day 3 Greenwich and the Prime Meridian
Morning: I visited the Royal Observatory, where the Prime Meridian is located. You can stand with one foot in the Western Hemisphere and one in the Eastern Hemisphere! I also explored the Cutty Sark, a historic sailing ship, and the National Maritime Museum.

Afternoon: I returned to central London and went to Hyde Park. I spent the rest of day exploring nearby attractions like the London Eye, Big Ben
Evening: I enjoyed the live music and dinner at a local pub
Day 4 Arrival in Glasgow
Flight to Glasgow: I flew from the Heathrow Airport in London to Glasgow. The flight took approximately 1.5 hours.

Check-in and Explore: Once I arrived , I checked in to my hotel in central Glasgow.
Afternoon:
I started at George Square, the heart of the city, surrounded by beautiful Victorian architecture. I visited the Glasgow City Chambers for quick tour. After that, I walked to the historic Glasgow Cathedral. Behind it is the Necropolis, a Victorian cemetery with stunning views of the city. Near the cathedral, I explored a museum focused on the world's major religions and their impact on society.
Evening: I enjoyed the live music and dinner at a local pub
Day 5 More of Glasgow
Morning:
I started my day with a visit to the Kevingrove Art Gallery and Museum in the West End. It features a diverse collection of art and artifacts. Nearby, I visited the University of Glasgow. The stunning Gothic architecture and Cloisters are worth a visit.
Afternoon:
I visited a whiskey distillery fabric in Nord Glasgow. I sampled the distillery's whiskies and learned how to appreciate the different flavors and aromas.

Evening: I enjoyed the live music and dinner at a local pub
Day 6 Arrival in Edinburgh
Travel to Edinburgh: I took a bus from Glasgow to Edinburgh, which takes about 1,5 hours. Taking the bus is about €10 cheaper on average than taking the train,
Check-in and Explore: Once I arrived , I checked in to my hotel in central Edinburgh.
Afternoon:
the Edinburgh Festival is an unparalleled celebration of music, theatre, opera and dance performed across Edinburgh each August.

The Royal Mile, stretching from Edinburgh Castle to the Palace of Holyroodhouse, is usually at the heart of festival activities. I enjoyed street performances, visited local shops, and soaked in the lively atmosphere.
Palace of Holyroodhouse: At the end of the Royal, I visited the Queen's official residence in Scotland.
Calton Hill: For panoramic views of the city, I headed up to Calton Hill, where I found several monuments and amazing photo opportunities.

Evening:
I enjoyed dinner in the Old Town and had a traditional Scoattish meal.
Day 7 Culture and Nature
Morning:
National Museum of Scotland: I spent time at National museum of Scotland, which offers everything from ancient Scottish artifacts to modern art.
Scott Monument & Princes Street Garden: I climbed the 287 steps of Scott Monument for stunning views. Afterward, I took a peaceful walk through Princes Street Gardens.

Afternoon:
Arthur's Seat: I hiked to the top of Arthur's Seat, an ancient volcano, for breathtaking views of the city and surrounding countryside. It's a moderate hike but well worth the effort.

Explored New Town: I then explored Edinburgh's elegant New Town, with its Georgian architecture, boutique shops, and art galleries.

Day 8 Arrival in Liverpool
Train to Liverpool: The train is fantastic way to travel from Edinburgh to Liverpool. My trip took approximately 3 hours.
Check-in and Explore central Edinburgh: Once I arrived , I checked into my hotel in central Liverpool
Afternoon:
The Beatles Story Museum: I headed to the Albert Dock, where you will find the world's largest permanent Beatles exhibition. The museum offers an immersive experience with memorabilia, intective exhibits, and a recreated Cavern Club. the ticket costs £20.

The Cavern Club: I visited the iconic Cavern Club on Mathew Street, where The Beatles played nearly 300 times. During Beatles Week, the club hosts special tibute acts and live music all day.

Mathew Street: I strooled through Mathew Street, the heart of Liverpool's musical legacy. visited the statues of the Beatles and checked out memorabilia shops.
Evening:
International Beatleweek Festival: I enjoyed the live music during the International Beatleweek Festival at Cavern Club.
Day 9 More in Liverpool
Morning:
I explored the city center, rich with cultural heritage and vibrant spots.
Parks: I was pleased to find that Liverpool has an abundance of parks, including Sefton Park Palm House, one of the city’s most popular parks.
Afternoon:
The Liverpool Museum: I visited to Museum of Liverpool, located on the waterfront.
Liverpool Cathedral: I also visited Liverpool Cathedral, the largest cathedral in Britain, and climbed to the top for panoramic views of the city.
Evening:
Live music at Jacaranda: I enjoyed live music at Jacaranda
Day 10 Return to Istanbul
Train to Manchester: I traveled by train from liverpool to Piccadilly station in Manchester.
Piano: At the Station, I enjoyed watching piano performances. which offered a special and unexpected experience in the hustle and bustle of travel. I later learned, that the piano was gifted by Sir Elton John after he surprised and delighted St. Pancras visitors with a mesmerising piano performance in 2016.
Free bus: I took a free bus around Manchester city center, which you can catch in front of the station.
Flight to istanbul: I flew from Manchester airport to Istanbul. The flight took approximately 4,5 hours.
