After completing the German Course at Paderborn University, I transferred to Heidelberg University. Because my uncle lived there and the city was really beautiful. During the 2nd World War, one of the rare places that was not bombed. I can say that I have accumulated the most beautiful memories of my life. These are the beautiful memories that make a smile on my face when I think of them now, and I say that I am glad I did it. Making friends from many different countries of the world, travelling to European countries, being involved in the education process there, job opportunities. I would like to tell you a little about Heidelberg. Heidelberg is a lovely and romantic place with about 150 thousand inhabitants between Stuttgart and Frankfurt.

Heidelberg is also a university town. Founded in 1386, Heidelberg University is the oldest university in Europe. In Germany, both language preparation and studying at university afterwards are difficult to underestimate. The university system is very tiring compared to Turkey.

We started to visit the city, which is built on both sides of the Neckar River, from Hauptstrasse in the Altstadt (Old Town) district. This street is only open to pedestrians. There are many shops, souvenir shops, restaurants and cafes on both sides.

The street we started to visit from Marktplatz is 1.5 kilometres long, but you can have a lunch break or a drink after looking at the shops. The Heiliggeistkirsche Church in Marktplatz also adds a different beauty to the square.
